Farewell Year 8's

At our Leavers Lunch the year 8 students watched short clips that the school made to say good-bye to them.  Here are some comments from the students specific to Liam, click on each link to hear what they had to say.

Mannequin Challenge

In class we did and Mannequin Challenge we watched a video to get inspiration. If you don't know what the Mannequin Challenge is when your friend videos you doing every day things and you can't move. We did two videos in class to get an idea and than spilt of into groups of four or five here are two of the video that my group did.

Camp Advertisment

On 5th of November we went on a four day camp a Murchison, we did lots of activities and fun games. When you get back to school we had to make an advertisement on our favourite camp activity.  My favourite activity was jet boating. Here is the advertisement I made.

Pet Day

Every year we have a pet day at school. Pet day is when every one brings there pets to school and the pet and the poster the student has made. We have starting to make things for pet day. In class we had to make a text conversation between us and our pet.  I did mine between me and my pet budgie Peepers. Here is mine.

Paper Power

In class we had to explain a strategy we were learning in. We were learning the Paper Power strategy. Here is mine and Ryans DLO. Hope you learned something.  

My Mihi

In class we have been learning how to write your own Mihi. We each had to write our Mihi and then voice over it after we have practices the pronunciation. Here is mine.

Train Safety

In our school we had a wheels safety week, room 6 set up a track and made road signs you would see when driving. Our class made train safety poster to show your learning. We had to include 5 thing to do your not to do, and one picture. Here is my poster.

Sailing

On Thursday 28 March we went sailing. It was a fun experience we the people that went. We learn't the basics of sailing, how to but the sail boat together, how to work the sail, and how to steer. We did some challenges and learn't what to do if the boat flip. Here are some pictures.

Anzac Timeline

In class for topic we have been learning about Anzac day Mrs Hahn brought in a box of items, and said every item has a story. We learn't about the soldier and had to build a timeline on them. We used easily to make the timeline and it had to include the basic information and the soldier we were researching. Start from the bottom and work the why up.  

The Recruit

In class we have started reading activities. We have to get 20 points and each activities 5, 7 and 10 points. The book we are reading is called The Recruit by Robert Muchamore.  One of the activities I did was Minecraft we had to build a under tunnel, (It's not really a tunnel). Because in the book that meet at the London under ground tunnel. The person that helped me was Ben. Click Here To View Ben's Blog. Drip Riffle

We were  learning about ANZAC Day and we make a poster for the juniors using Thinglink. I made mine on a weapon they used.

Word Art

In class for homework we had to make boxes. Then in the boxes we had to write nice things that described that person. Then we took all of the word you of the box and make some word-art.

Cricket

On the 27th of November we had cricket training. Paddy for Canterbury Sports came down to give us this lessen. It was a fun chance to get out of the class room for some fitness. Paddy will be coming back on 29th of November for more training. Here are some of the pictures.

Wringer

In class we have been reading a book called wringer by Jerry Spinelli. We all had to pick a scene to make into a movie. My scripted was not filmed, and we filmed Max's scripted. Here it is.

Knights

Last Wednesday we had Mrs Meikle, and we learned about knights. Here is what I learned.

Holiday Reading Challenge

In the holidays we had to find a sentence that describes that felling of a character and included the page number where it was found, author, the name of the book and turn it into is poster. Here is the one I made.

Refugee

This week for the "Refugee" activities we had to made to prison in minecraft, because in the book Mahmoud's family tried to get into Hungry and then they where sent to prison and, my guess is that they will be sent home.

Multiplicatin Smorgasboard

In class we are learning Multiplication Smorgasboard. It is multiplying  questions like 8 x 67. But I'll let the slide show do the explaining.

Refugee

In class we are reading a book called "Refugee" by Alan Gratz. In the book the three story's, are all in a different timeline. One is about a boy called Mahmoud, we had a build a raft that he was sailing on to eventually Germany. The other one I did was to film a video of a boy named Josef. He's on a boat when his sick father jumps over board and trys to kill himself. Here is the film we took.
